|East Timor||100 MINOR SEMINARY STUDENTS RETURN TO DILI|
100 students of the seminary minor of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception are returning to East Timor.
In the last weeks, 200 seminarians, together with the professors and religious personnel, sought refuge in Kupang, West Timor.
The Rector, Fr Araujo, in returning to Dili said that a number of nuns of the Congregation of Sisters of the Rosary were about to return to East Timor to help the women and children in difficulty.
In the regon of Atambua, in West Timor, Catholic schools have taken in thousands of refugees.
Meanwhile the East Timorese Provincial of the Salesians has said that while Indonesian authorities are responsible for what occurred, he regretted the need to abandon Dili.
He said: We would have stayed, however we were forced by the situation and didn't have another choice. There were moments in which I lost my calm and I was truly very afraid. However I have been able to read this experience in the light of the Gospel, with the concrete opportunity to continue to live and pray for those who did me harm."
