Vatican     HOLY SEE CLOISTER DOCUMENT SPARKS DEBATE
There's more to the contemplative life than what is set out in the norms on the cloistered life published by the Vatican in May, according to a survey of cloistered nuns published in the Italian religious review 'Testimoni'.
According to the results of the survey, which questioned some 31 cloistered nuns from 15 convents in different countries, the Vatican's instruction in question - 'Verbi Sponsa' - had an unfortunate divisive result caused by assumptions of the submissive role of women.
An analysis of the study will be published tomorrow at www.vidimusdominum.org/giornale/index.shtml?lingua=EN.
