East Timor     ARCHBISHOP HOPEFUL OF TIMOR PEACEKEEPING FORCE
The Catholic Archbishop of Brisbane believes it is only a matter of time before a United Nations peacekeeping force is sent to East Timor.
Archbishop John Bathersby was speaking after celebrating a special mass to show solidarity with the people of the troubled province.
He says there is too much pain in East Timor for the people of the province to recover without outside help.
He said: "Because in the aftermath of that decision that was made in the referendum I believe there's still a lot of hurt and enmity and bitterness that exists in East Timor. And I do think that they need a peacekeeping force there to maintain security."
