Queensland    PROBE INTO CULT'S ROLE IN SCHOOLS
Catholic education authorities in Toowoomba diocese are investigating allegations that the controversial Magnificat Meal MOvement (MMM) has been teaching Catholic catechism in local state schools.
The movement has had catechists working in the Heilidon and Flagstone Creek state schools this year. At the Helidon school they were allegedly signing themselves in as "Catholic".
Heildon parish priest Fr John Ryan said he protested to the principal Peter Cook.
Cook told the Catholic Leader: "I agreed with Fr Ryan that this was not on. I spoke with the MMM and they subsequently signed themselves in under a variety of names, but now mostly just as Christian."
The principal said his hands were tied by legislation on who can enter schools. He also had to be fair to all, he said.
