Spirituality    DEATH OF FOUNDER OF CHARISMATIC RENEWAL
71 year old Fr. Emiliano Tardif has died in Argentina will giving a spiritual retreat. He founded the charismatic movement after being cured of TB in Canada in 1973.
He described his cure: "After they did all those tests, and before the doctors began their treatment, five people of a charismatic prayer group in Quebec came to see me. They prayed for me in my hospital room and the Lord cured me in three or four days."
After this event, Fr. Tardif dedicated himself to the study of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and to participating in its retreats and conferences. In November, 1973, he received the charism of healing, which, as he said, "has been a wonderful instrument of the Lord for me to accompany my evangelization work."
Twenty-two years ago, he founded the community of the Servants of the Living Christ, which today has spread to several countries of America and Europe.
