Vatican    TOUGHER GUIDELINES FOR HOLY SEE EMPLOYEES
Vatican employees will be required to pledge to "maintain secrecy on each official act", and must seek permission to give press interviews, under rules published in a new 93 page Vatican manual that will come into force on 1 July.
The manual also spells out obligations for priests to wear church cassocks and laity to dress decorously, and it forbids workers from living a private life contrary to the principal morals of the church.
The new manual replaces one in place since 1992. The news agencies quote Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Angelo Sodano as saying that Pope John Paul II approved it last April.
