A message from the Union of Hong Kong Catholic Organisations in Support of the Patriotic and Democratic Movement in China, down to four members from 20, urged Catholics to carry out Jesus' mission of peace in marking the 4 June incident so as to build a society of justice, peace, joy and harmony.
Special Masses were held, and the Union published two comic books for children and ran a day camp for high school students on the issue. A June 4 candlelight vigil organised by a territory-wide alliance drew about 70,000 people.
