|Kosovo Crisis||CARITAS AUSTRALIA RAISES $600,000 FOR KOSOVO|
Caritas Australia has so far raised $600,000 in a special appeal for relief programs of international Caritas agencies working with Kosovar refugees in the Balkan countries.
The efforts of Caritas are part of a coordinated initiative with other aid organisations such as the International Red Cross. As well as helping to establish and manage refugee camps, Caritas is providing food, water, blankets, health and hygiene items and other material needs, for both refugees in the camps and those living with host families.
Caritas Australia is also supporting the work of the International Catholic Migration Commission, which is implementing social services for children, women and the elderly in the Caritas managed camps and collective centres.
