Philippines    POLICE ALLEGEDLY WIRETAPPED CATHOLIC BISHOPS
The director of the Presidential Anti-Organised Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) is under investigation by the Government House of Representatives for alleged illegal wiretapping of prominent members of the community including Catholic bishops.
The Director, General Panfilo Lacson, has denied the allegations.
Bishop Ramon Vill2ena of Bayombong told reporters at the presidential palace that he would support calls for Lacson's resignation if allegations were proved to be true. "If it is true that they wiretap big people like VIPs, even Church leaders, then I'm sure they will not hesitate to wiretap the ordinary citizen. That is very destructive," the bishop said.
