National    ARCHBISHOP SUGGESTS ONE-OFF HOLIDAY FOR CHRIST'S BIRTHDAY
Perth's Archbishop Barry Hickey has called for a one-off public holiday next year to celebrate 2000 years since the birth of Christ. He wants to distinguish it from Christmas to mark it as a significant year.
He is proposing a public holiday on Monday November 27.
Archbishop Hickey says the holiday would allow people to take time to relect on the deeper questions of the meaning of our existence and the deeper purpose of our lives.
