The Central Committee for the Jubilee has published the text and music of an official hymn for the Jubilee year, as well as a special Mass for the Holy Year and a prayer written by Pope John Paul II.
Catholic World News reports the text of the hymn was written by Jacqueline-Frederic Frie, a noted French author of liturgical music. It is entitled Christ Yesterday, Christ Today, and consists of a dozen couplets, all beginning, "Blessed be God." The music was written by Brother Jean-Paul Lecot, an Immaculate Conception missionary who serves as musician for the basilica of Lourdes.
