|Kosovo Crisis||AUSTRALIAN CHURCHES SUPPORT KOSOVO RELIEF EFFORT||
Australians are supporting ACT (Action by Churches Together) International as they airlift food, tents and medical supplies. These airlifted goods are to supplement truckloads of emergency goods being rushed to meet the needs of the hundreds of thousands of Kosovans seeking refuge from violence, ethnic cleansing and killing.
In Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, church and aid personnel are working together through ACT to deliver a coordinated response to the rapidly escalating crisis.
Reports received from the area indicate that airlifts started over Easter and were made possible by donations already received," said Michael Brown, Director of Christian World Service. This is the overseas aid and development program of the National Council of Churches in Australia, which will transfer to ACT donations received for the Kosovo crisis.
The telephone number for credit card donations is 1800 025 101, and the mail address is Private Bag 199, QVB PO, Sydney 1230. Donations over $2 will receive a tax deductible receipt.
