|Social Welfare||NEED TO RECLAIM LOST FATHERHOOD: RELIGIOUS PSYCHOLOGIST|
Clinical Psychologist and Marist Brother Eugene Dwyer has regretted the effect on society of the loss of what he calls the "fatherhood script".
In Melbourne's Catholic Kairos newspaper, he quotes research pointing to a strong role for fathers is essential to the health and well-being of all, including women and children.
He also shows the central role played by the Christian and Jewish faiths, with their unique emphasis on the intimate role of fathers in family life as a reflection on the reality of God the Father in human lives.
