Christian Lobby urges protection of frogs and unborn babies
The Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) has said that if the ACT Legislative Assembly can support the conservation of frogs, it should also be able to support unborn babies.
Last week, the ALC issued a election call supporting "conservation of both frogs and unborn babies".
It was responding to the retiring speaker of the ACT Legislative Assembly, who listed as one of his most important achievements the decriminalisation of abortion in the Territory. ACL noted that the ACT Leglislative Assembly is encouraging its citizens to create a "frog friendly habitat in [their] backyard, school ground or rural property".
Juxtaposing the two news snippets, it made the serious point that unborn babies are just as deserving of protection as frogs.
"ACL supports conservation of both frogs and unborn babies," is said in a statement on its website.
