All good undone by abuse, judge tells priest
A Melbourne judge told Fr Terence Pidoto that all the good he had done as a priest had been undone.
The Herald-Sun reports that Fr Pidoto was found guilty of sexually abusing four boys over a ten year period.
The court heard that he took one of his victims to Melbourne's Corpus Christi seminary to perform sex acts.
The 62 year old was initially charged with sex crimes in 1999. He spent 15 months in custody before charges were dropped when a victim could not face giving further evidence.
Despite his not guilty plea, he was finally found guilty on the charges on 18 July this year.
He will be sentenced next week.
While Pidoto was an assistant parish priest at St Bede's in Balwyn North, he took a 14-year-old boy to the Corpus Christi seminary on several occasions in 1972 and 1973. On later occasions, further assaults took place in Box Hill and an undisclosed Melbourne location.
