Link suspected between church fires
Police are investigating a possible link between a recent fire at an ACT Catholic school and a blaze last year in church at nearby Adaminaby.
IBN News reports that ACT Police are looking at a possible link between a fire at St Joseph's in O'Connor and a 2006 blaze in the Snowy Mountains town of Adaminaby.
The first fire destroyed the town's St Mary's Church a year ago.
No other details of that line of enquiry have been made available, but detectives have confirmed the St Joseph's fire was deliberately lit.
Parish priest Fr Bill Kennedy says all weddings at the O'Connor church have been cancelled until the end of the year. During this time he will put in place plans to repair the $3 million damage to the church and parish centre.
