Holdens get a church of their own
Northern Victorian car collector Kevin Smith, who hails from a pioneering family in the region, has bought the historic hundred year old Violet Town Catholic church and transported it to his farm, where it now sits amid his complete collection of Holden cars.
The Herald-Sun reports that the country cop, who works in the communications area at Wangaratta police, and runs the family farm, has found an unusual way to mix his cars and his Catholic faith.
He has one of every Holden model, and now he has added his own church to the collection.
Built in 1872 for Violet Town's Catholics, the church was eventually used for Mass only four times a year, and finally decomissioned in 2003.
