New future for Forbes retirement village

Wilcannia-Forbes Bishop Christopher Toohey will today take part in an official handover ceremony whereby Catholic Healthcare will become the aged care provider for the Jemalong Retirement Village at Forbes in western NSW.

The Forbes Advocate reports that, in addition to Bishop Toohey, Mayor Alister Lockhart, the Village (JRV) residents and their families will take part in the transition ceremony to celebrate Catholic Healthcare becoming the aged care provider for JRV.

The 91-place residential aged care community was established in 1972 by the Forbes Jemalong Aged Peoples Association.

Chris Rigby, Managing Director of Catholic Healthcare said that he was honoured JRV had entrusted Catholic Healthcare with their aged care community.

"Catholic Healthcare now manages two residential aged care facilities in Forbes; JRV and Mater Aged Care," he said.

Catholic Healthcare Limited operates 19 residential aged care communities, three hospitals and provides community care services to over 2,000 people in their homes.
