Nun on Downer's interfaith dialogue mission
Dominican sister Trish Madigan will take part in the second Dialogue on Regional Interfaith Cooperation for Peace, Development and Human Dignity to be held in Cebu, Philippines from 14-16 March.
Cardinal George Pell will also attend the meeting, which is organised at the Australian end by the Foreign Affairs minister Alexander Downer. It is a follow up to the inaugural meeting held in Yogyakarta in December 2004.
The gathering aims to build mutual understanding and a harmonious relationship among people of difference faith in the region.
President Gloria Arroyo is expected to open the meeting. Each national delegation will report on progress made in interfaith dialogue in their country since the last meeting.
The other members of the Australian delegation are Dr Abdul Ameer Ali (Muslim), Dr Appupillay Balasubramanian (Hindu), Rev John Baldock (Anglican), Archbishop Aghan Baliozian (Armenian Apostolic Orthodox), Rev John Henderson (National Council of Churches of Australia), Ms Peta Jones Pellach (Jewish), Most Venerable Van Canh Tran (Buddhist), Ms Wendie Wilkie (Uniting Church).
The first interfaith meeting in 2004 attracted criticisms for its failure to include the country's most senior Muslim leader.
