Synergy with Broncos at ACU Banyo

The Brisbane Broncos goes back to university this summer as part of their rigorous pre-season training program at the pool at Australian Catholic University (ACU National) Brisbane Campus (McAuley).

Every morning since mid November, Darren Lockyer, Shane Webcke and the rest of the team have been using the pool at Banyo for a spot of water resistance training after their main sessions at Brisbane Boys Grammar fields, Northgate.

With students away, the unusually quiet campus environment provided the team with a perfect venue to prepare for the upcoming 2006 season.

Professor John O'Gorman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor at ACU National Brisbane Campus said:
"It's been great having the Broncos use our campus pool over the summer months and we look forward to their return later in the year.

"Not only are they a great sporting team but there's a good synergy between their community programs and our work here at ACU National", he said.
