Christian Brother re-elected ACU Chancellor
Br Julian McDonald CFC AO has been elected Chancellor of the Australian Catholic University for a further five year term, and Mr Ted Exell AM, an official of the Archdiocese of Melbourne, has been elected to the office of Pro-Chancellor for the same period.
A statement from ACU National says the election closed last Monday. The appointments are effective from 5 November.
"This result, which is highly relevant to the future of the University, is a great outcome for the institution," said ACU National Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Sheehan AO. "I am immensely grateful for the obvious commitment of both Brother Julian and Mr Exell to our University, and wish them both the very best for their continuing work for our welfare in the times ahead."
ACU National, established as Australia's only Catholic, national, publicly funded university, is open to all.
As an authentic Catholic university, ACU National lays claim to 2000 years of Catholic intellectual tradition and is connected through its activities to the great Catholic universities of the world. The University is justifiably proud of its historic origins through the work of the religious congregations and dioceses in Australia.
The University is recognised nationally and internationally as an institution in which all activities are driven by its distinctive Mission in a quality way.
