Two Australians on auditors list for October Synod
Salesian biblical scholar Fr Frank Moloney, and director of the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and the Family in Melbourne, Monsignor Peter Elliott, are on the list of 63 special auditors and experts invited to next month's Eleventh General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops at the Vatican.
Catholic News Agency reports that those on the list were invited as "audiutores Secretarii specialis" (or experts) and "auditors" (auditors) for the Synod.
Fr Moloney is on the "experts" list, while Monsignor Elliott is an "auditor".
Fr Moloney is currently based in Washington as head of the Department of Biblical Studies at the Catholic University of America.
