ACU shares leadership expertise

Australian Catholic University is joining the University of Wollongong to launch a joint initiative - the Australian Leadership Consortium - in Wollongong this morning.

Under a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding, ACU National's Flagship for Creative and Authentic Leadership, directed by Professor Patrick Duignan, will join forces with Wollongong University's Australian Centre for Educational Leadership, led by Associate Professor Narottam Bhindi, to form the Australian Leadership Consortium.

"This Consortium is an opportunity for ACU National and the University of Wollongong to celebrate a truly innovative partnership," said ACU National Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Sheehan AO. "Each of us has a recognised reputation for excellence in the area of educational leadership, an area of great scholarly and cultural significance globally."

The new Consortium will broaden professional development training in leadership throughout the school sector and into government departments, the police, and non-government organisations, and host research and conferences. Focus areas will include Moral and Ethical Leadership; Leadership for Social Justice and Social Responsibility; Emerging Leadership Paradigms; and Leadership Formation and Effectiveness.
