PNG Bishops call on Catholics to support gun ban
The Catholic Bishops of Papua New Guinea have called on Catholics to support the process of banning guns in their country.
The President of the PNG Bishops' Conference, Archbishop Karl Hesse, says gun attacks by criminals are increasing and the prevalence of illegal weapons poses a threat to society.
The Archbishop also criticises politicians, police and defence force commanders for not being more accountable for the disappearance of weapons that end up in the hands of criminals.
