ABC reports on Priest Shortage in SE NSW
A shortage of Catholic priests in south-east NSW is being described as a crisis according to a report on ABC regional radio.
The news report says "On the far south coast, regional dean, Father Mick Burke of Bega says parishes in the area extending from Batemans Bay to Eden will soon see the number of priests cut from six to four. He says the reduction will have to be met with a greater involvement by the laity in the everyday running of the parishes, especially the two which will be left without resident priests."
