Australia's Harry Windsor begins gap year at English Catholic college
Harry Windsor has been attracting some attention since he left his Royal connections in Sydney to spend his gap year in the UK.
The 18 year-old former student at St Ignatius College Riverview is not being pursued by the paparazzi - but he is getting plenty of comments about his Royal name by fellow students at Stonyhurst College in Lancashire.
Harry Charles William Windsor is Australian born and bred. And he is highly amused at the string of 'Royal' coincidences at a time when HRH Prince Harry (Henry Charles Albert David), and third in line to the throne, has been spending part of his gap year in Australia.
Non-Royal Harry's home address is Palace Street in the Sydney suburb of Petersham, and his family even has distant links with the late Princess Diana.
Harry's late grandfather, also Harry Windsor, who performed Australia's first heart transplant, trained top Australian surgeon, the late Victor Chang. Diana, Princess of Wales, was closely involved with supporting Mr Chang's work. Following her death, the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute set up a heart research laboratory in her memory.
Stonyhurst College's under 14s rugby squad makes sure Harry never forgets the final outcome of the World Cup - as he's one of their coaches, as part of his gap year duties.
The Jesuit Stonyhurst College has a long established gap year exchange program with St Ignatius College in Sydney.
