2004 Lent theme has its focus on children
Archbishop Paul Josef Cordes, president of the Pontifical Council "Cor Unum", yesterday presented the Pope's Lenten Message for 2004 to the world's media. The theme of this year's message is: "Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me".
The story has been picked up in a number of ways in the media we have scanned. Reuters heads its story with "Pope John Paul, whose Church is still reeling from a big sexual abuse scandal in the United States, on Thursday urged Catholics to defend children against all forms of exploitation and violence by adults."
