Sea change for welfare body head
Catholic Welfare Australia's founding National Director Toby O'Connor is stepping down after 19 years service in the Catholic Welfare sector.
The organisation's chairperson Fr Joe Caddy said his name has become synonomous with Catholic welfare over the years.
"Through his vision, his good judgement and his sharp intellect Toby has positioned Catholic Welfare Australia very strongly to move with confidence into the future," he said.
Mr O'Connor has worked as an employee of various Centacare agencies including the Australian Catholic Social Welfare Commission, where he became National Director before the organisation evolved into Catholic Welfare Australia.
"I have been humbled by the responsibility given to me to represent those less fortunate in our nation," he said. "It has indeed been a very great privilege and honour and one that will have an enduring formative affect on me personally."
