Victoria dominates Catholic Welfare Awards nominations

Centacare agencies in Victoria are prominient on the list of finalists for the 2003 Catholic Welfare Australia Awards, which will be announced in Geelong on Wednesday.

The organisational finalists for Excellence in Service include Centacare Ballarat's Making a Significant Change program and Centacare Melbourne's Horn of Africa Family Support Program, along with Canberra's Marymead Centre's Disability Support program.

Centacare Ballarat is also up for Norma Parker award for the Most Innovative Program, with its Disability, Allied Health & Social Support in Housing Program, as is Centacare Melbourne for The Cyrene Centre.

The other major category is the Perkins Award for an individual's Excellence in Service.
