Heavy speculation on replacement for Cardinal Law

The international media is abuzz this morning with a rumour that the Vatican is about to announce that the replacement for Cardinal Bernard Law in Boston is Bishop Sean O'Malley of Palm Beach, Florida.

There has been no official comment from within the Church but Catholic World News says: "Boston media outlets – which have been anticipating an announcement since a recent Boston Globe story suggested that the Vatican was on the verge of naming a new archbishop – have given very heavy prominence to the CNN report" where the speculation seems to have originated. CNN bases it's authority on a commentary by John Allen, the National Catholic Reporter's Rome correspondent.
