Change in direction for Australian Jesuit magazine
The Jesuits have appointed a new editor for their flagship Eureka Street publication who will oversee significant new developments in coming months.
Current editor of sister publication Australian Catholics Marcelle Mogg will replace Morag Fraser, who steps down after 12 years to pursue her own writing.
Ms Mogg said that while she intends to build on Eureka Street's reputation as a source of quality writing and analysis on public affairs, she plans to introduce new features such as short fiction. She will also broaden the scope of the magazine to include features that provide an ethical perspective on business and economic issues.
Under Ms Fraser's editorship, the magazine has been critically acclaimed an won Walkley and Gutenberg Awards.
Ms Mogg takes over on 1 April, ahead of Eureka Street's relaunch in Melbourne on 1 May.
