Vatican issues first crime report for Holy City

The secular media is reporting the story of the Vatican issuing its first report on crime within the tiny city-state. The overwhelming majority of the 608 infractions committed last year were thefts and purse-snatchings and over 90% of those responsible were never caught. The Vatican city state only has 455 permanent citizens but millions of visitors each year. The Vatican Museums alone have three million visitors. There were no capital crimes committed in the city state last year. Capital crimes though are not unknown as for instance the murder of one of the Swiss Guards in 1998 and the attempt on the life of Pope John Paul in 1981. Asked why the Vatican decided to issue the report, a spokesman, the Rev. Ciro Benedettini said, "We have nothing to hide."
