Vinnies teams up with Kasey Chambers
The St Vincent de Paul Society in Queensland has teamed up with singer/songwriter Kasey Chambers to produce a series of posters educating people about the issues facing disadvantaged youth.
Kasey's song Not Pretty Enough was a recent Australian number one hit. St Vincent de Paul state youth coordinator Jim Wilkinson thought it represented the situation of poor, homeless and less fortunate young people.
"We asked Kasey if she would mind us using her song to help educate people and she did not hesitate for a second," he said. "She even offered us her signature to use in our campaign."
The posters were launched during a recent St Vincent de Paul Society State Council meeting and are being sent to schools, parishes, charity centres and universities.
