Parramatta Diocese priest appointed to arts body board

The parish priest of Blacktown in Sydney, Fr Arthur Bridge, has been appointed to the Board of the Music Fund of the Australia Council, the Federal Government's peak funding body for the arts.

Fr Bridge is one of the seven board members that make up the Council. His appointment is for three years and he represents NSW.

He has worked in many community based projects, particularly with youth and families in the area of drugs and alcohol. He was awarded an OAM for his work in this field. He is also the Chairman and founder of Ars Musica Australis.

Ars Musica Australis is a Charitable Trust that commissions new Australian Works of Music and provides performance opportunities and scholarships for young people whose primary interest is in the Performing Arts.
