Christian Brothers elect Indian as Congregational Leader


At their 29th General Chapter in Rome, the Christian Brothers have elected a brother from India as Congregational Leader to succeed Irish Br Edmund Garvey.

Br Joseph Philip Pinto has been working at the Congregation's General Curia in Rome as an assistant to the Congregational Leader. He is a former student of St Columba's College in New Delhi, where he was Principal between 1982 and 1987.

Br Michael Godfrey, recent Congregational Leader of the St Patrick's Province (Victoria/Tasmania), was elected Deputy Congregational Leader. Assistants are Brothers Mark McDonnell, Jack Mostyn and Dominic Sassi.
