Theological schools to share resources with ACU
Theological study and research will take a significant step forward with affiliation agreements being signed between the Australian Catholic University and Catholic theological institutes in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
The Catholic Weekly reports that the agreements with the Brisbane and Sydney institutes will be forged this weekend at a meeting of the Forum of Australian Catholic Institutes of Theology in Sydney. The Melbourne agreement will follow in April.
The agreements will be signed by ACU vice-challencor Professor Peter Sheehan and heads of St Paul's Theological College, Brisbane, the Catholic Institute of Sydney and the Catholic Theological College, Melbourne.
Fr Ormond Rush of St Paul's said the institutions would draw on the strengths of each other.
"For example, St Paul's rich theological library will become available to a wider student body," he told the Leader.
