UK TV 'live sex' bid angers bishop

A Catholic bishop has criticised British television's Big Brother game show after contestants were encouraged to have sexual intercourse on live national television.

Bishop Crispian Hollis of Portsmouth spoke out after some five million viewers watched to see if contestants Helen and Paul, who had been flirting continuously, would sleep together last Friday in a "den" specially constructed for intimacy.

The event did not take place, but viewers nonethleless saw gay entrepreneur Josh make explicit sexual overtures to another gay contestant, Brian, when the pair were alone in the den.
