Winslet for nun's role
The actress Kate Winslet has been offered the role of Mother Teresa in a film about the prospective saint's life.
According to reports in India, the director Rajiv Nath is planning the film.
He said: "What I am planning is a full-length feature film focusing on the life of the Mother since she came to Kolkata as a Catholic nun dedicated to charity work. I am trying to get Kate Winslet as the Mother. My friends in Europe are in touch with her."
Nath said the Catholic Youth Movement had shown interest in funding the venture.
The star of Titanic has just finished work on Iris and is close to agreeing to work again with Geoffrey Rush, her leading man in Quills, on The Magician's Wife.
