Pope wants more young couples to reproduce
The Church should help people overcome their 'fear of the future' and encourage the younger generations to have children, Pope John Paul II said during his weekly audience at the Paul VI Auditorium in Rome last Wednesday.
The Holy Father expressed his opinion that the "fear of the future", leads to unhealthy tendencies, such as apathy, selfishness, substance abuse and violence.
In order to counter these tendencies, Christians should show more hope and confidence and "create a better future, a more livable world and a more brotherly society." Noting that such a refreshing attitude is part of "building the Kingdom of God," the Pope stressed that, ultimately, "the future is in the hands of those who will give the rising generation reasons to live and to be hopeful."
