Co-adjutor Bishop for Lismore Diocese
Bishop John Satterthwaite of the New South Wales diocese of Lismore has announced the appointment of a co-adjutor bishop for his diocese.
In a memorandum to clergy of the diocese made public yesterday, Bishop Satterthwaite announced that Fr Geoffrey Jarrett has been appointed.
Fr Jarrett is currently Parish Priest of New Town in the Archdiocese of Hobart and Chairman of the Australian Confraternity of Catholic Clergy.
His appointment as co-adjutor Bishop of Lismore includes the right of succession.
Bishop Satterthwaite, 72, has been Bishop of Lismore since 1971.
