Colombian parish priest stabbed to death
A body 35 year old Colombian priest who criticised the violent behaviour of criminal gangs has been found with stab wounds.   The Rome-based MISNA news agency reports that Fr Arnoldo Gómez Ramírez, a parish priest belonging to the Xaverian congregation in the west of the country, was stabbed to death last week, with two blows to the chest. It says his body was found under the bed, wrapped in a cape
Police believe he was killed by a local criminal group which he had often criticised for its violent acts towards the people.
The death of the young priest arose great emotion among the worshippers, who used to call him the "grandfather" due to the colour of his hair, or "Clinton" due to his similarity to the US President.
"He was a man of peace that loved his community", said a member of the local church.
