|Vatican||MEN IN BLACK ONLY FOR QUEEN'S VISIT TO VATICAN|
Some British and Irish seminarians in Rome are disappointed that they will miss meeting Queen Elizabeth II in Rome this week due to a clash in dress policy between the Vatican and their college.|
They were planning to greet the Queen in a Vatican ante-chamber just after her half-hour audience with Pope John Paul II on Tuesday, part of a four-day official visit to Italy.
But cassocks are the only acceptable dress for seminarians on such occasions in the Vatican. Cassocks are not part of the British seminarians accepted attire.
Students from the Venerable English College, the Beda College, Pontifical Scots College and Pontifical Irish College will wave at the Queen wearing normal clothes on a corner near Rome's Anglican centre, her next port of call.
