Olympics    INDIGENOUS GROUPS SUPPORT OLYMPICS ACTION
Two of the Australian Catholic Church peak indigenous bodies have come out in support of indigenous political action during the Sydney Olympic Games.
Both the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Commission (NATSICC) and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission have given their support to Aboriginal people using the Games to take their message about their rights and needs to the world.
Newly installed NATSICC chair Vickie Walker supported the Aboriginal Embassy which has been set up in Victoria Park in Central Sydney.
She told The Catholic Weekly: "NATSICC supports the rights of all people to protest at a site of their choice."
