East Timor     SEMINARIANS IDENTIFY STARVATION HOT SPOTS
People in remote areas of northern East Timor are suffering from hunger, and there are fears that many have died of starvation, according to a priest active in social concerns.
Fr Amatus Woi SVD, chairman of the Flores chapter of the Volunteer Team for Humanity, told UCA News that he received the information from East Timorese seminarians. The seminarians recently returned from East Timor to resume studies at St. Paul Major Seminary in Ledalero on Indonesia's Flores Island.
He said local and international aid agencies have not reached people in rural areas due to lack of transportation and the agencies' inability to locate critical areas.
