Olympics    CANBERRA BISHOP CARRIES OLYMPIC TORCH
Auxiliary Bishop of Canberra-Goulburn Archdiocese Pat Power yesterday carried the Olympic torch from Old Parliament House to New Parliament House, where the community cauldron was lit.
The Olympic torch was greeted by a deaf dance trio and a traditional Aboriginal smoking ceremony when it arrived in the ACT yesterday afternoon.
Bishop Power is believed to be the only Australian bishop to act as a torchbearer.
