Indonesia    MALUKU RELIGIOUS LEADERS MAKE FRESH APPEAL
Catholic Bishop Petrus Canisius Mandagi of Amboina and Protestant leaders have renewed their call to the international community to exert pressure on the Indonesian government to intervene to put an end to the genocide Christians are currently suffering.
The appeal was made during a day of prayer held on Sunday.
Bishop Mandagi denounced the forced conversions to Islam. In an appeal, on the occasion of the day of prayer, he emphasized that "God is love. All those who have a religion believe in God. Therefore, I hope that believers, especially Christians and Muslims, will love one another. Otherwise, we will have betrayed our religions."
