NUN TO SHARE RECONCILIATION EXPERIENCE AT HIROSHIMA CONFERENCE
Sr Daphne McKeough, convenor of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Task Force for Australian Conference of Leaders of Religious Institutes (ACLRI), leaves for Japan this week to participate in an international conference of Asian religious women on the theme of reconciliation.
Sr Daphne, also the ACLRI'S Executive Secretary will travel to Hiroshima with Sr Pat Davis and Sr Noreen Dunne. The theme of the COnference is "Women in search of true reconciliation - bring faith to new life".
She said the sisters participating in the Conference will live with Japan's poor and dispossesed.
"They will be living with the people, sharing their homes with them. For some Sisters this may mean sleeping on the floor and having no facilities for washing their clothes. In this way the Sisters can truly experience, if only for a short time, some of the difficulties many local workers have to face."
