A Jesuit priest was found dead on a highway in eastern India on Wednesday in mysterious circumstances.
    While police claim the death was caused by a road accident, an initial autopsy showed a bullet injury, prompting the suspicion of foul play.
    Fr Remis Kerketta, 47, headmaster of St. Xavier's School in Bihar state's Ranchi district, was found dead on the highway which passes through his mission in Bundu.
    The police handed over the body to the Jesuits after an autopsy on Thursday.
    According to the preliminary autopsy report, "his cerebral cortex was pierced by a bullet."
    Jesuit Fr Hilarius Barla said robbers who look for motorbikes "do not kill people. They just show a pistol and take away the bike."
