USA    HOUSE VOTES TO KEEP VATICAN IN UN
A resolution proposed by a Texas Republican in the House in Washington expresses opposition to efforts to strip the Vatican of its non-voting representative status at the United Nations.
Tom DeLay said in the statement he put to fellow congressmen: "The House has now sent a clear signal that the American people oppose any effort to strip the Vatican from its rightful role as a force for good within the United Nations. This debate is really about the Catholic Church's long tradition of defending innocent human life and the role of family in society."
