Vatican     POPE CONDEMNS GAY RIGHTS MARCH
Pope John Paul has condemned Saturday's gay rights march in Rome.
Speaking to tens of thousands of pilgrims in St Peter's Square, he expressed his anger over the festival, saying it was an offence to the Christian values of a city dear to Catholics worldwide.
He said the Catholic church could not keep quiet about the truth -- it considered homosexual acts to be against natural law.
Meanwhile, the Rome-based Zenit church news agency claims numbers attending the Gay Pride event has fallen short of expectations by up to 30%. It says the Italian railways were forced to cancel a special train due to lack of interest, and many of those who attended went out of curiosity rather than commitment to the cause.
